Rest Back to Rest Policy

Before you invest

Capital at risk.

Rest is a cash management platform that helps UK businesses invest surplus cash in BlackRock Government Money Market Funds. When you use Rest, your money is invested — not held as a deposit. Your capital is at risk and you may get back less than you put in.

The headline. When you use Rest, you are investing in a money market fund — you are not depositing cash with a bank. Returns are variable, not guaranteed, and the value of your investment can fall as well as rise. Rest Capital does not provide investment advice — you are responsible for deciding whether Rest is right for you.

What Rest does

Rest is a cash management platform for UK SMEs. Rest itself does not hold your money or manage a fund. When you fund your Rest account, we arrange for your cash to be invested in BlackRock Government Money Market Funds — funds managed by BlackRock, one of the world's largest asset managers, that hold short-dated UK government debt and other high-quality instruments. Execution and custody are provided by WealthKernel Ltd, an FCA-authorised firm.

What we're aiming for

Capital preservation

Invested in low-volatility, short-dated money market instruments designed to preserve principal.

Money-market yield

A yield that moves broadly with prevailing money market rates, after fees.

Daily liquidity

Redemptions are processed at the fund's dealing point, typically daily. Not same-day.

The main risks

Compensation and protection

Money invested through Rest is not covered by the FSCS deposit protection scheme that protects eligible bank and building society balances up to £120,000. FSCS investment protection — a separate scheme that may cover up to £85,000 in specific circumstances of authorised-firm failure — is narrower in scope than the deposit scheme and does not protect against falls in the value of your investment or losses within the fund itself.

Who Rest is for — and who it isn't

Rest is designed for: UK businesses with surplus cash they don't need same-day, looking for money-market-level returns with capital preservation in mind.
Rest is not suitable if you need: same-day access to your funds, FSCS deposit-style guarantees on your balance, or higher-risk, higher-return investments.

No advice

Rest Capital does not provide investment, tax, or financial advice. Nothing on this page or on our platform is a recommendation. If you are unsure whether Rest is right for you or your business, please speak to a suitably qualified independent adviser before investing.
